HYPE Wayne county launches leadership academy

for young professionals

HYPE Wayne County as a committee of the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce is launching a new initiative to enhance the young professional leaders in the county.

The Wayne County Leads program encourages young professionals to be the future business and community leaders needed in our county. By providing these designated leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary, we will build a community where individuals work for the common good and lead Wayne County to a strong and prosperous future.

In every session, each participant should be actively engaged in discussions, classwork and complete any outside assignments. Your presence, energy, ideas, and questions are essential to the full Leadership Academy experience. Each cohort member will also be paired with a mentor from a similar career pathway that will meet with them throughout the program. Candidates MUST have the full support of the organization they represent.

Graduation from the Leadership Academy does not signify an end but represents the beginning of a commitment to civic involvement. Participants are expected to become continually, substantively, and actively engaged within community organizations in leadership roles.

Throughout the Leadership Academy experience, participants will be exposed to various organizations and community leaders to engage with and learn valuable information from.

Those interested in applying or learning more about this exclusive leadership academy should contact Roxie Deer at Roxie@wcareachamber.org or call the Wayne County Chamber at 765-962-1511. Applications are available June 1-July 31st. Only 12 spots will be filled each year. Applicants who are not selected are encouraged to reapply in the following years.

2021 WC Leads Cohort

11 young professionals from the Wayne County community completed the first cohort of WC Leads at the 2022 Annual Dinner.
