New Incentives for Wayne County's Young Professionals
You may be asking yourself why it’s important to join a young professionals group. Or if you should even join at all. John C. Maxwell said it best when he wrote “The better you are at surrounding yourself with people of high potential, the greater your chance for success.” I have heard many times in my life to surround myself with people heading in the direction you want to go.
Joining HYPE Wayne County has done just that. Every month, there are opportunities to network and meet people who are excelling in their careers, people who might inspire you. Networking is the number 1 unwritten rule for success in business. Connecting with the right people could open doors for you that you may not have envisioned for yourself. You must develop relationships and connections within your network to have more opportunities to advance your career. Attending meetings and social events hosted by young professional groups is a great way to connect with people in your field. The professional relationships that you will garner will build self-confidence and promote self-esteem.
Knowing the right people isn’t the only thing you need to be successful. You must also be the right person. As a young professional. It’s important to take in all of the information you can. As a human, there is always room to grow. HYPE Wayne County knows this and provides tons of tools to help. HYPE can connect you with a mentor that can assist in fine tuning your resume and interview skills. We also offer business and personal development opportunities, such as Business Education classes presented by Eastern Indiana Small Business Development Center and Adulting 101. And the best part? These classes are free for you to attend!
The members of HYPE Wayne County aren’t just work, work, work though. We do A LOT of playing too! From past events like For the Love of Grapes and Hops to Karaoke Night at Elstro Park, there are a lot of opportunities to have fun and relax with all of the new friends you’re going to make. We have even been able to host social events during COVID by arranging virtual game nights and renting out a movie theater so we could social distance while enjoying a show. Be sure to check out our events page and add upcoming gatherings to your calendar. We would love to see you there!
Our young professionals are also always looking for ways to give back to their community. We are currently planning community cleanup projects and discussing ways to beautify and better the towns we live in. The young professional community is the key to making Wayne County a place where people want to stay, live, and work. Involvement of young people in our community could really influence future town planners and community leaders. Which in turn will nurture our young professionals as they become business leaders, business owners, public servants, and families in our community.
Now that we have covered the WHY it’s important, let’s talk about WHEN you should join. There is no better time than now. HYPE Wayne County has just launched an incentive program , called It’s Worth the HYPE for members. You can now earn points to cash in on rewards and swag for doing the things you already love to do. How would you like to earn cool gifts for doing things like community clean up, painting pottery, or attending our newest upcoming event Flavor of Wayne County? Check out the Incentive Program section on our website to learn more and log your points.
If you are not already a member of HYPE Wayne County, I encourage you to reach out to myself, or any other current member with questions or to learn more. Current HYPE Members, thank you for all you are doing to make this community a better place and invite your friends!
